Dr. Arvind M. Deshmukh, President, MBSI

Dr. Arvind M. Deshmukh is a distinguished microbiologist with over 37 years of teaching and research experience. He served as Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Sub Centre in Osmanabad, Maharashtra. In 1996, Dr. Deshmukh founded the Microbiologists Society, India (MBSI), a prominent scientific organization dedicated to advancing microbiology across the nation. Under his leadership as President, MBSI has organized numerous state, national, and international conferences in countries including India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Dubai, Mauritius, and the USA. Dr. Deshmukh’s research interests encompass bioleaching, bionanotechnology, actinomycetes, and bioremediation, with his scholarly contributions cited over 745 times. He is committed to fostering scientific knowledge and collaboration, actively engaging in seminars, workshops, and conferences to promote microbiology education and research.
