The Microbiologists Society, India (MBSI) (www.microbiosociety.com) was established in
1996 (Reg. No. MAH/4814/SAT) Maharashtra, to promote activities and support research in
Microbiology. MBSI announces awards for Ph. D. students to promote this goal:
Guideline:
1. Students (Indian citizen) registered for Ph. D. (Full-time) in Microbiology / Biotechnology
during the academic sessions/semesters June 2020 to Dec 2022 in an UGC recognised or
National Institute in India can apply. Note: Students who have registered in the first call,
but have not submitted the pdf file are requested to submit immediately.

2. Second step submit single pdf file as per guidelines
3. Attach proof / certificate wherever (*) required.
4. Amount: One time award of Rs. 5000.00 per student for publication / research chemicals
or services). The amount will be paid only to the student via Bank account (self) on submission
of proof of expenses (which has not been claimed with any other funds or agency).
5. Only one / two student(s) from each State/UT based on recommendation/evaluation by a
committee will be given the award. Please note: If more applications are there from a state,
awards will be given on prorata basis.
6. Preference will be given to students who are not availing any fellowship or assistance.
7. Furnishing wrong / incorrect information will disqualify the student. The assistance will have
to be returned if disbursed.
8. Attach B. Sc., M. Sc. Final year Mark sheets and Degree certificate.
9. Important: The application form has to be submitted endorsed by the Ph. D. Guide with
official seal and submitted as a single pdf file Labelled/Name as: MBSI_PhD-22_State_Name
